On Tuesday, during the celebration of its 100th anniversary General Motors has officially unveiled the production version of the hybrid car Chevrolet Volt. Recall that the eponymous concept car, compared with which the trade pattern was slightly different appearance and reduced by almost 30 percent of the drag coefficient, was first shown at the beginning of 2007. Chevrolet Volt sedan received a hybrid power plant, which can provide the vehicle propelled solely by electric for about 64 miles. Electric motor rated at 150 horsepower is powered by a lithium battery, rechargeable or from gasoline engine (in this case, if all the energy consumed to move in a way), or from ordinary household outlet. Battery charging time ranges from three (for a network with a voltage of 220 volts) for up to eight hours (at a voltage of 120 volts). Recall that the emergence of hybrid Volt on sale is scheduled for late 2010. The final price for sedan has not been announced, but according to preliminary data, the cost of such a vehicle in the U.S. of about 40 thousand dollars.
