The west side of AvtoVAZ

Joint venture "GM-AvtoVAZ", was officially unveiled on 23 September, is located on the west side of the vast territory of the Volga Automobile Plant. It even somehow symbolic that the modern Western techniques of organizing and conducting vehicle business come to the WHA on the west side. The total area of ??"GM-AvtoVAZ" is more than 142 thousand square meters. Production facilities include: - the department of black (unpainted) body, including: forming a line of body parts (for AvtoVAZ), a line of welding the frame body (at AvtoVAZ) - final assembly shop Black Body - Paint Shop (come on line in late March 2003) - shop and assembly shop helper - an expedition, where training for delivery vehicles - the administrative building. Currently, all buildings except the paint shop, built and installed manufacturing equipment. Work on the shop floor assembly includes three-shift schedule. In the first stage, until the end of this year, is scheduled to release 456 cars. In 2003, the joint venture will be released on production of 35 000 vehicles per year in 2004 - 60 000 per year by 2005 - 75 thousand cars per year. Car sales in Russia and CIS Stock will carry through its own dealers. Until mid-October 2002 will be entered into dealership agreements with 20 dealers. In March 2003, their number should increase to 35 and then get to 91. For the most part it will be equally present dealers AvtoVAZ and General Motors Corporation dealers in Russia and CIS countries, as well as independent dealers that meet all the requirements of the joint venture. Export sales of the joint venture vehicle, which should start in October 2003, will implement the European branch of General Motors.
