"AvtoVAZ" is not satisfied with the work of General Motors

As President-CEO of "AvtoVAZ" Igor Yesipovsky, the relationship with GM need to be reviewed: the joint venture, which produces Chevrolet-Niva and Chevrolet-Viva operate on a zero return. According to him, the Board of Directors of "AvtoVAZ" intends to consider at the next meeting the issue of cooperation with General Motors. The founders of JV is a third side - the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. However, there has been a massive decline in production "Chevrolet Neve" and "Chevrolet-Vives", after an initial growth: in 2002, was issued 456 vehicles in 2003 - over 25 thousand in 2004 - 55 000. But the 2005 plan was approved in 75 thousand sets, and then - "optimized" in half, to the level of the previous year. Igor Yesipovsky did not specify the essence of the current difficulties with the Americans. In 2006 "AvtoVAZ", under an agreement with General Motors, will lose its Superbrand Russian SUV "Niva", familiar to the market since the 70's. He will be replaced by "Niva".
