Russian off-road to conquer Europe

A joint venture GM-AvtoVAZ plans to start exporting Russian SUV Chevy Niva in foreign countries. Recall that, for example, in Germany, Lada Niva sold better than some models of Volkswagen. As the general director of GM-AvtoVAZ, John Hanson, is currently undergoing a Chevrolet Niva homologation for sale in foreign countries in accordance with the requirements therein for safety and toxicity, reports "Autostat." According to him, this process will require a year and a half. Today has not been revealed exactly what changes will be incorporated into the design of equipment or vehicle. The price at which the Chevy Niva will be sold abroad, too, has not been disclosed. In Russia, the price of the model starts from 412 rubles. Recall that recently passed the car a little facelift. Exterior updated Chevrolet Niva was designed by world famous Italian studio Bertone. According to the manufacturer, the design of the updated model was introduced more than 60 engineering changes. The main areas for improvement were updated exterior and interior in terms of ergonomics, the introduction of railings, improved ventilation compartment, reducing noise and improving the lighting characteristics of the headlights. The most notable change in the exterior has new front bumper. Inside, three-spoke steering wheel, a new company TRW (Portugal), a new console in the lining of the roof with a built-ochechnikom, and additional cup holders and a niche in the center console. Currently, Chevrolet Niva is exported to CIS countries - Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Georgia.
